I’m Heather, a digital strategist who builds accessible, intuitive web experiences that actually make sense to the people using them. I specialize in simplifying complex systems, improving content workflows, and helping teams work smarter, not harder. My background spans design, UX, marketing, and instructional support, with a strong focus on clarity, accessibility, and scalable digital platforms.
Behind the resume

I like to think of myself as a creative–tech hybrid. Over the years, I’ve built websites, led digital strategy, managed marketing initiatives, and yes, taught yoga — along with collecting more laptops (and yoga mats) than any one person reasonably needs. No intervention required.
What ties it all together is how I think. I value structure and clarity, and I’m drawn to making complex systems feel approachable. Whether I’m reorganizing a website, refining a user flow, or helping someone update content with confidence, I focus on practical solutions that make digital work easier.
I care deeply about good design, clean systems, and empowering people to use their tools effectively. If something can be streamlined, clarified, or made more usable, you’ll usually find me doing exactly that — often with my poodle supervising nearby.
Rooted here
I’ve lived in the Upper Valley since 2002 — first in Vermont, then in Hanover, New Hampshire. The landscape, the pace, and the sense of community suit me well, even when the weather (or the Wi-Fi) needs a little patience.
I grew up in western Massachusetts in a family that treated Vermont like a second home. We spent weekends skiing, hiking, and being outside year-round, which shaped how I move through the world: resilient, observant, and generally unfazed when conditions aren’t perfect.
Living and working in this region has shaped how I approach my work: steady, thoughtful, and grounded in long-term thinking. I value environments where care, craft, and consistency matter, and where building something well is more important than building it fast.

Where I started
Education has always mattered to me, even when the path to it wasn’t straightforward. I became independent early, balanced work alongside school, and pursued learning whenever and however I could.
My academic journey didn’t follow a traditional timeline. I returned to school in my early twenties, became a parent soon after, and continued my education while working full time, freelancing, and raising a family. There were pauses along the way, but persistence was constant.
I ultimately earned a Master’s in IT with a concentration in web design, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and recognition from the National Society of Leadership and Success. That experience reinforced what has guided my career ever since: curiosity, resilience, and the confidence to build your own path when a predefined one doesn’t fit.
We chose Hanover, New Hampshire — home to Dartmouth College — for its strong sense of community and opportunity. It reflects the values I care about most: growth, stability, and creating access where it matters.
How I work
I thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working across creative, technical, and academic teams. I lead with an Agile mindset — breaking work into manageable steps, adapting as needs shift, and communicating clearly so teams stay aligned and momentum stays intact.
I’m a systems thinker. I translate organizational and marketing goals into digital structure, connect UX needs with platform realities, and focus on outcomes that actually work in practice. One of the most meaningful compliments I’ve received came from a former supervisor who said he didn’t hire me for my technical skills, but for my ability to bring people along. That perspective has shaped how I lead ever since.
Whether I’m onboarding stakeholders, migrating a CMS, or untangling a form with far too many fields, I bring patience, curiosity, and a pragmatic sense of humor. I enjoy breaking complex systems into learnable, approachable steps through documentation, training, and custom walkthroughs.
I’ve redirected domains, cloned environments, rebuilt sites, and spent plenty of time making the web behave — most of the time.

Beyond the browser
When I’m not working (and when the weather cooperates), I’m usually outside. The ocean is my favorite reset — nothing grounds me quite like waves, salt air, and a little perspective.
I enjoy hiking, gardening, and tending the front-yard jungle that’s slowly taken on a life of its own. I’m a firm believer in decluttering; clear spaces tend to lead to clearer thinking.
I stay curious through wellness and leadership podcasts, exploring new technology (especially AI), and finding ways to be useful beyond work. My teenage and young adult children keep me grounded, entertained, and very aware that humor is an essential life skill.
