Why Geisel?
A stakeholder approached me looking for a way to highlight admissions data, including icons, numbers, and quick stats. Rather than creating a standalone data display, I identified a broader content opportunity: Geisel lacked a dedicated marketing page explaining why a prospective student should choose the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, while its expanding dual-degree offerings had limited supporting content.
I proposed a new narrative framework for the Why Geisel? page, positioning the school’s values, mission, community, academic strengths, and key differentiators alongside supporting facts and visual content. As part of the same initiative, I researched and developed content for a dedicated Dual-Degree Programs page, giving prospective students a clearer way to understand available pathways, program benefits, and application requirements.
The work ultimately extended beyond the creation of two new pages. Why Geisel? and Dual-Degree Programs became high-level destinations within the MD Program navigation, elevating content focused on institutional differentiation and academic pathways within the Admissions site’s information architecture.
What began as a request to present admissions data became a broader content strategy, positioning, and information architecture initiative. The resulting experience shifted the focus from data presentation to value communication, helping Geisel more clearly articulate what distinguishes its MD program in a competitive medical education landscape.
